2024 Xposure Photo Festival Feb 28 – March 5 in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates
I feel very honored to see my “Keep Going New York !!” amongst the twelve photography projects nominated and selected for The Global Focus Project
“The program seeks to identify and select an outstanding male and female photographer from each of the six continents, namely Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, and Oceania.”
These twelve photographers will be invited to the festival and awarded for their projects and contributions to the field of photography and their work will be exhibited during the festival week in Sharjah, UAE:

| I am happy to announce two exhibitions of KEEP GOING NEW YORK !! in New York City and in Tübingen, Germany. Since the pandemic kept delaying the opening of my exhibition at Deutsches Haus at NYU in New York we will now have a public closing event this Thursday, Sept 8, 6-8 pm, with a conversation about the project and the resulting book between journalist Claudia Steinberg and myself. ( NYU regulations require visitors to bring their excelsior pass + or vaccination card and a valid ID ) More information here …….Next stop Tübingen, Germany: The Deutsch-Amerikanisches Institut Tübingen DAI presents Stefan Falke’s KEEP GOING NEW YORK !!” In these photographs Falke focused on the resilience of his fellow New Yorkers, on moments of normalcy under exceptional circumstances during the pandemic in 2020. Then and now:
A recent visit to Times Square, with my promo postcard leading the way. The tourists are still missing although it is definitely getting busier than it was just a year ago, like in the photo from March 2020 (book page above). The Naked Cowboy, who used to work in Times Square every day with throngs of tourists surrounding him, was the first person I encountered on one of my first photo walks at the beginning of the pandemic. It was eerie to see him all alone, masked when nobody was masked yet, nobody there to listen to him. The pandemic became real to me at that moment.
